Unlike the city variants, the peasant zacusca is traditionally made from the vegetables available in the household and is usually more filling, to provide the energy needed for a lifestyle that requires more physical effort. Nowadays, the boundaries between town and village are no longer important, and the choice of recipe is a matter of taste. Just for the taste I chose a combination of white beans, tomatoes, peppers, carrots, onions and spices and I cooked a delicious zacusca.
