Valerian root - 100g
 
Latin name: Radix Valerianae officinalis L. (Valerianaceae)

Use: Internally: 1 cup 2-3 times a day. External: decoction of 100 g. Roots (left in water bath).
Preparation: 1-2 heaped teaspoons roots soak in 1/4 l of cold water for 12 hours. Potion is prepared from 100 g root in 2 l boiled water, left to soak for two hours.
 
Note: Taking over doses leads to headache, rapid heartbeat and dizziness. Prolonged use can lead to addiction, decreased muscle strength and tone, slows response guide. Contraindicated for patients with liver disease!
